Montiel Park is a wonderful, family friendly place to spend time with your kids and dogs alike. With a spacious area for playing, dogs will love coming here again and again. The dogs will also love the shaded areas on those hot summer days as well as the dog friendly water fountain. There is also plenty of seating area for dog owners, as well as a shaded area.

As well as a dog park, Montiel Park also has a Disc Golf course, and a half court basketball court. The area surrounding the dog park is a drought tolerant landscape including succulents, dirt paths, and drought tolerant shrubs and trees. The disc golf course is a free, 9-hole, uphill/downhill course that offers many challenges.

If you don’t play disc golf, this area offers a great place to walk through, either with or without your dog. This park, located in San Marcos, off the 78 at Nordahl, shows off a wide range of California native, drought tolerant plant material for water conservation.
